Why we built this
Finding senior living is one of the most consequential decisions a family will face — and one that often happens under time pressure, with limited information, and significant emotional weight. Yet most available resources either push families toward facilities that pay referral fees or present generic information that does not reflect the realities of care quality on the ground.
What disqualifies a facility from being listed
We review publicly available records and decline to list facilities that do not meet our minimum baseline. Facilities are not listed if public records show:
- Active state license with no open enforcement actions
- No sustained findings of immediate jeopardy to resident health or safety within the past 24 months
- Accurate contact information provided
- Willingness to participate in Care Residence Guide's transparency standards
